In the middle of the candidates for the Chancellery, around him citizens: SPD Finance Minister Olaf Scholz should speak “plain text” on ZDF.

Mainz - "Good evening, dear Olaf, I am a member of the SPD myself."

In the latest issue of "Klartext" on ZDF, the young man complains to the SPD candidate for chancellor about unjustified Hartz IV sanctions.

Scholz should answer citizens in the studio (see photo above) a good ten days before the general election.

According to Scholz, this is the envisaged citizens' allowance.

The finance minister and vice chancellor reaffirmed his party's goal of replacing the current Hartz IV system with a citizen's money that would do more justice to the people.

"That has to be tackled immediately," he said, referring to the change in government he was aiming for.

Above all, however, everything must be done to "ensure that someone who is dependent on help comes out as quickly as possible".

Scholz also said that certain easing of the size of the apartment, for example, had already been tried during the Corona crisis.

Above all, however, everything must be done to "ensure that someone who is dependent on help comes out as quickly as possible".

For freelancers, Scholz's assessment of their situation should not have sounded so rosy: "With the self-employed, we made sure that they could continue to do what they did during this corona crisis, even if it did little."

This obviously does not satisfy the trainees in the studio.

It is taking too long for the citizens' money to come.

“But what do you want to do in the meantime?” He asks Scholz.

“I always experience personally that the job center removes services that I am entitled to.

Chicane, I would just say, ”he continues.

Especially the "paperwork".

“First of all, this is a major reform that I don't think will take that long,” replies Scholz.

“Whatever helps, is to use the possibilities of digitization.

Other countries are much better than Germany in this regard, ”admits the SPD politician.

Scholz refers to data protection

Keyword - or rather stimulus - digitization, which is inextricably linked with the topic of data protection, which is also hotly debated in Germany.

"If you say that I agree that the authority asks the others whether they already have the data, then you don't have to say that every time, and it will be a huge relief for many," says Scholz, recommending his stance on the Data protection to the questioner.

According to its official website, the SPD is planning the following for citizens' money:

  • Basic security

: Assets should only be used up from a value of more than 60,000 euros

  • Further education bonus

: Without giving details, a “meaningful” further education or a secondary school leaving certificate should have priority over a “rushed placement in any auxiliary job”

An average of three million viewers tuned in to the ZDF format “Klartext, Herr Scholz!” On Tuesday evening.

From 8.15 p.m. this corresponds to a market share of 11.3 percent for the show with Scholz.

The issue on September 9th with Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet had switched on about 400,000 more.

Green Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock will answer questions from voters on September 16, moderated by Bettina Schausten and ZDF editor-in-chief Peter Frey.
