A new solution is imperative for the Tutzing fire station on Oskar-Schüler-Straße.

That means: conversion or new construction, as Stefan Mertens, project manager at the Bonn company Forplan, said.

Tutzing

- Project manager Stefan Mertens from the Bonn company Forplan presented the fire brigade requirement plan to the Tutzing municipal council.

The possibilities are currently being examined in a feasibility study.

According to Mertens, however, this area would reduce the efficiency of the Tutzing fire brigade.

So far, around 70 percent of the emergency services are on site in a maximum of 8.5 minutes, and more than 90 percent after 11.5 minutes.

From the Würmseestadion, many journeys would be longer, especially in the northern parts of Tutzing.

"It is being checked whether everything can be accommodated in the old fire station," said Mayor Marlene Greinwald.

The feasibility study was inspired by fire brigade commander Christoph Knobloch.

Mertens listed numerous important points: parking spaces and changing rooms, workshops, training and social rooms, staff room for major incidents, parking spaces free of intersections and a "black-and-white separation" for the separate storage of operational and private clothing - all together would result in a "large-scale renovation " mean.

Mertens praised the renovation of the Traubing fire station with a lot of support from volunteers as very successful. Nevertheless, the expert still sees a lot of need there, for example for an extension of the vehicle hall, an exhaust extraction system, markings, storage of hazardous substances and that black-and-white separation. No measures are required in Diemendorf - however, adequate heat insulation and measures against mold formation are required inmonthenshausen.

Replacements for fire fighting vehicles would cost around two million euros over the next five years. A turntable ladder alone costs 800,000 to 900,000 euros. The technical equipment of the fire brigades is at a good level, said Mertens. Additional siren locations in Unterzeismering and Kampberg should be checked for a sound concept to warn the population in the event of a disaster. A controllable siren is needed in Diemendorf.

Mertens sees a positive trend among volunteer workers in Tutzing.

Their number has increased over the years, from 53 (2004) to 71 (2019).

He reported on decreases in the number of employees for Traubing - from 38 (2004) to 33 employees (2019) andmonths house (from 13 to 10).

In Diemendorf, the number of volunteers, having increased to 21 in 2009, has fallen back to 14, the level in 2004.

Mertens described the age structure as positive, 74 percent of the emergency services come from the youth fire brigade.

To strengthen staff, he recommended convincing local employees to participate and working with local employers.
