The crisis has indeed hidden many increases in current spending.
In 2020, according to the Court of Auditors, the executive increased spending by 96 billion euros, including 83 billion related to the crisis.
In 2021, 66 billion, including 25 linked to the crisis and 41 excluding emergencies and recovery.
In two years, ordinary expenditure has increased by 54 billion.
In total, public spending is increasing four to five times faster than before.
I am not criticizing exceptional spending, it was essential to support the economy and the recovery to prepare for tomorrow's growth.
