Michael and Simone Ballack have had to live with the heavy loss of their son Emilio since August.
He died in an accident.
Now they spoke up for the first time.
Starnberg - professional footballer Michael Ballack (44) and his ex-wife Simone (45) experienced the worst that can happen to parents in August: They lost their son Emilio in a tragic accident with a quad.
The 18-year-old died on August 5, 2021 on the family property in Portugal.
He would have celebrated his 19th birthday on September 19th.
His parents took this day as an opportunity to speak out publicly for the first time after his death.

They shared photos of Emilio on their Instagram accounts and wrote touching words to their deceased son.
“5:36 p.m. 19 years ago,” says Michael Ballack's profile under a photo of Emilio.
At that time, he was apparently born in 2002.
“Your absence only makes me love you even more,” continues the 44-year-old father.

And Simone Ballack also addressed her deceased son with touching words: “My beloved child [...] Today on September 19th.
you would have been 19 years old, "wrote the former wife of the 44-year-old soccer star on Instagram on Sunday.
She also posted a photo of herself and her son, which apparently shows the two of them on his 18th birthday.
"Who could have guessed that this picture would be your last birthday picture ..." Michael and Simone Ballack have two sons together - Louis and Jordi.
The family had not yet commented publicly on it.

Simone Ballack continued: “I miss you every second and I don't know how it should ever be different?
I fight my way through life every day, for you and your brothers. ”The 45-year-old thanked her followers for the many messages and comforting words.
Numerous celebrities also commented on the post and expressed their condolences.
