The corona numbers continue to rise.

Four districts in Upper Bavaria are even among the ten hotspots nationwide.

A district is in first place.

Munich - The Bavarian 7-day incidence * has risen again in the last few days.

According to the RKI, it is currently 87.1.

Well above the national average of 71. Some of the Germany-wide Corona * hotspots are in the Free State.

The district of Traunstein has been at the top for a few days with an incidence of over 200. About a week ago, the city of Rosenheim topped the list.

The incidence there has fallen slightly again, but the city is still one of the hotspots.

(By the way: Our Bavaria newsletter informs you about all developments and results from the Free State about the upcoming federal election - and of course about all other important stories from Bavaria.)

Corona hotspots in Bavaria: One district leads the nationwide list with an incidence of over 200

The district of Traunstein * currently has an incidence of 218 and is therefore in first place. In the neighboring district of Berchtesgadener Land, the incidence is 198.4 and thus it lands in 3rd place. The district of Rosenheim * and the city are in 5th place and 8. The southeast of Upper Bavaria has developed into the Bavarian corona problem child.

Nowhere else are the incidences so high in the Free State.

The state capital Munich, on the other hand, has remained fairly stable, with an incidence of 88.2.

The Upper Bavarian districts of Altötting, Miesbach, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Erding also have a comparatively high incidence of over 100.

According to the district office of Berchtesgadener Land *, the strong infection rate is mainly due to people returning from vacation and the "spread in private surroundings".

"Based on these chains of infection, infections are also repeatedly recorded in companies," it says in a press release.

Despite increasing incidence: Bavarian hospital traffic lights continue to be green

A new traffic light system has been in place in Bavaria since the beginning of September.

The so-called hospital traffic light is intended to map the occupancy rate of hospitals and replace the corona incidence as the sole guideline value for corona restrictions to date.

It is currently in the green area.

Hospitalization

Intensive care bed utilization

limit

Yellow at 1200

Red at 600

As of September 19

277

280

The new hospital traffic light turns yellow if more than 1200 patients with corona disease had to be admitted to hospitals across Bavaria within seven days.

The traffic light turns red when more than 600 corona patients are in intensive care units in Bavaria.

The state government will then decide on further measures - such as the return of the FFP2 mask requirement, the contact restrictions or the PCR test requirement.
