Below the red line: Juventus' worst season opener in 60 years | Israel today

2021-09-20T06:42:02.638Z

The Bianconeri without a win after four league rounds, something that has not happened to them since the 1961/62 season •: Danilo: "We have a mental problem" • Allegri: "I made a mistake in the substitutions"

Juventus failed to maintain last night (Sunday) their advantage in the game against Milan, which ended in 1: 1.

Although Albero Murata put the Bianconeri ahead in the 4th minute, Ante Ravic set up a point split in the 76th minute and left Massimiliano Allegri without a win after four league rounds.

This is Juventus' worst season opener in 60 years, when even in the 1961/62 season the old lady failed to get a win after four rounds in Serie A.

Currently Allegri has a balance of only 2 points and the team is in 18th place in the league, below the red line.

Juventus have not kept a clean sheet in league games since March 2, 18 games in a row.

The only time it has managed not to absorb in all competitions since March was in a 0-3 win over Malmo in the Champions League last week.

"I agree with the coach that we need to be more like a team because we are having a hard time not in terms of ability but in terms of results. We have to be smart and understand what causes those results," Danilo admitted after the game.

"I think it's more a mental matter than a physical fitness. There are moments when we fail to press or defend as one unit, we don't move the ball fast enough, and we definitely need to improve that."

"Unfortunately, we lost concentration, determination and focus," the coach said.

"Look at the corner where we absorbed the goal, there was complacency. We must not give up this game after we have been in control. Obviously, we have to move forward more. Much more."

Juventus in Serie A this season:

Allegri was asked if he thinks Juventus is still a contender to win the championship after a bad start and replied: "This game does not change anything in my opinion about Juventus. What we need to learn quickly is that there are games where you have to be tough, you have to be determined. It is part of the overall growth process. "Some of the players. I admit I made mistakes in the substitutions, I was wrong. I should have put more defensive players and locked the advantage at 0-1, so I take responsibility for that."
