Tierra incognita

is a new suspense series on the Disney + streaming platform, developed entirely in Latin America.

As they describe, it is a horror and mystery series aimed at adolescent audiences.

The premiere is scheduled for 2022, and the plot centers on two brothers who seek to find the truth about the disappearance of their parents in an amusement park.

Much of the filming is taking place in Argentina and, especially, in various places in Greater Buenos Aires.

One of the chosen settings is located in the south of the Buenos Aires suburbs and its charm goes beyond the limits of the screen.

It is the former

home of Otto Bemberg

, the founder of the Quilmes Brewery, an iconic place in Quilmes that has its own history and has become an ideal setting for audiovisual productions.

The house is located in Villa Argentina, a neighborhood founded in 1890 on land acquired by the

Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes

, to house employees from other towns who were supposed to attend the plant.

It is currently considered historical heritage and, due to its architectural characteristics, some spaces were chosen by Disney for its filming.

Cast of Tierra Incógnita.

Much of the series was made in Quilmes.

The first places they used, in addition to Bemberg's house, were house No. 8 in the neighborhood, the square in front of the San José Obrero church and Sáenz Peña and Otto Bemberg streets.

"The second square of the Villa Argentina and the school were also included. In the historic house No. 188, where Otto Bemberg -the founder of the company- lived, a scene was made on the ground floor, where the home is," they clarify from the brewing company.

The choice of this neighborhood to carry out part of the filming was not random.

According to Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes, the team in charge of selecting the spaces already knew Villa Argentina thanks to previous jobs and "fell in love with the place."

Before its official opening, the Quilmeño neighborhood had up to 192 classic-style homes that, despite having undergone some modifications, maintain their essence over time.

Also noteworthy is the large number of trees -mainly bananas- present throughout the town.

"They say that

there is a special magic in the streets of the neighborhood,

" the company tells about this place that was born more than a hundred years ago, for employees and their families.

"The feeling of community and the relevance for its people have a fundamental role, which continues to be transferred to everything we do today," they assert.

For the recording of Tierra Incógnita, one of the rooms in Otto Bemberg's house was set up as a living room next to a home.

As a reward for all that has been done, the brewing company asked Disney to "make a mark in the neighborhood."

As compensation, a restoration and enhancement of the San José Obrero Church was carried out.

The mystery series, whose first season will be available on the platform in 2022, will have 8 episodes of half an hour and, in addition to being Latin American, will have an international projection.

The protagonists will be the Dalaras brothers, Di, who will be played by Pedro Maurizi and Mora Fisz, and the direction is in charge of Sebastián Pivotto.
