Scientists from the European Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service warned of the unusual expansion of the ozone hole, which has become larger than Antarctica.

And the French channel Monte Carlo quoted the service as saying: "Every year between August and October, the sun depletes and erodes the ozone layer over the Antarctic region, and this year the hole appears to be larger than usual."

Vincent Henri Beuche, director of the service, said that in 2020 the ozone hole was already larger than it was in previous years and peaked with about 24 million square kilometers at the beginning of October and at the beginning of this year's season the hole began to grow in a way that suggests that it will be about the same size, but It has grown remarkably since then.”

The British Guardian newspaper reported on the 16th of this month that the ozone layer extends between 11 and 40 kilometers above the Earth's surface in the stratosphere and protects the planet's surface from ultraviolet radiation.
