Researchers from the Indian Institute of Mumbai have come up with a technology that turns creatine waste such as human hair, wool and poultry feathers into fertilizer, animal feed and pet food.
The researchers explained that the newly developed technology provides an economical and sustainable solution to dealing with creatine waste, in addition to being environmentally friendly, efficient and energy-saving through its use of advanced oxidation to transform the waste into salable fertilizers as well as animal feed.
Creatine is a type of protein used in the formation of hair, skin and nails, in addition to its use as an essential ingredient in hair cosmetics.
