The Observatory issued a local area heavy rain warning at about 3 pm, indicating that the rain in the northern area of the New Territories is particularly heavy, and heavy rain with an hourly rainfall exceeding 70 mm has been recorded or expected, and severe flooding may occur.
According to the rainfall distribution map of the Observatory, the highest rainfall was recorded in Fanling and Sha Tin at 3:30 pm.
The weather forecast updated by the Observatory in the afternoon shows that there will be sunny and very hot during part of the afternoon.
There were a few showers, with thunderstorms in some areas at first, and heavy rain in the northern part of the New Territories.

There will be sunshine at some times and the highest temperature during the day is 33 degrees Celsius. The Observatory expects rainy days to last until next week. From next Monday (27th), there will be some sunshine and some showers in some areas.
According to the Observatory, a fresh easterly airstream will reach the coast of Guangdong on Wednesday. There will be more cloud cover in the area later this week and there will be a few showers. It is expected that the easterly airstream will gradually ease in early next week.
