In 2020 it wasn't even possible live and this year it has already been postponed twice.

But now the time has come: The training and job fair is to take place on Tuesday, October 5th, in the Penzberger Stadthalle.

There will be more companies than ever before.

Penzberg

- It was more than twelve years ago that Penzberg hosted a major training fair for the first time.

It was called “Night of Training” and consisted of a central trade fair with exhibitors and bus trips directly to the companies.

After the premiere in 2009, two more nights followed in 2010 and 2012, but then it was over for the time being.

After a new edition in 2019 in the Rathauspassage, Nicola Schackmann, Katharina Panholzer and Sabine Ostermann from the company “New Orientation 08/12” in cooperation with the city and the “Passgenau” initiative of the family center Arche Noah wanted a first training and job fair in March 2020 the town hall.

But the corona pandemic forced those responsible to move this face-to-face event to the Internet and hold it as an online event.

"Live and in the town hall"

This year the makers of the fair are still the same. They have already tried twice for the 2021 training and job fair. Both times it had to be postponed. But now it could finally take place. “Live and in the town hall”, as Katharina Panholzer emphasized at the presentation of the trade fair program on Friday in the Penzberg town hall.

It is unlikely that the fair will have to be canceled.

"I am 100 percent assuming that it can take place," assured Monique van Eijk from the city's economic development agency and praised the event's "totally practical program".

The fair will be bigger than ever this year.

“It will be a huge event,” said van Eijk.

Around 60 companies from the region have registered.

The fair will not be limited to the town hall - it is too extensive for that, according to those responsible.

Events are also offered in the town hall and in the Rathauspassage.

First training fair, then job fair

The overall offer is divided into two parts: The training fair takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is aimed specifically at young people and their relatives. The first few hours of this part of the fair are reserved for schools, explains Ostermann. They should visit the exhibitor area of the fair as a class, listen to lectures and make initial contacts with potential apprenticeships at job speed dating. From 4 p.m., the relatives are also invited to visit the fair together with the youngsters, because: “There is a lot of discussion about training in families,” says Ostermann. Lectures would also be offered that afternoon especially for the parents; about how you can best support your child in choosing a career.

The job fair starts right after the training fair at 6 p.m. It lasts until 9 p.m. and “is aimed at everyone here in the region who is looking for a new regional employer,” explains Ostermann. Like the previous training fair, the job fair is also divided into three parts and is divided into lectures, a speed dating area and an exhibitor area. “The exhibitors are widely spread. A wide variety of industries are involved, ”said Schackmann: The willingness of companies to present themselves at the fair was very high. “There is an absolute need. We were booked up very quickly. We have never had so many employers with us. ”For comparison: According to Ostermann, there were almost 40 companies at the 2019 trade fair in the Rathauspassage, and around 50 at the online event a year later.Due to the corona pandemic, the 3G rule applies to the event. The test center in the town hall should be open that day, said van Eijk.
