At the Perm State University, in Russia, there were moments of absolute panic and terror on Monday, when
a student opened fire surprisingly and violently
in one of the buildings of the establishment, causing at least eight deaths and a dozen wounded, although both numbers could increase as the hours go by.
According to official sources, the alleged attacker
was injured during the arrest maneuvers
, after causing a state of chaos in the educational institution, where the students tried to escape as outside the shots.
“Some students locked themselves in the auditoriums of the universities to hide.
Other students jumped out of the windows

In moments of maximum tension, the University of Perm, through its social networks, recommended actions to those who were inside the place.
“If you are currently in college, if you are in the classroom, try closing from the inside and stand still.
If you're on campus, get out of the area if possible, ”he posted.

The governor of the Perm region, Dmitry Makhonin, who is at the site, where a crisis center was set up, did not rule out that the attacker had collaborators to carry out his plan.

The Russian Ministry of Health, for its part, confirmed that
"more than ten people were injured"
at the university located in a region near the Ural Mountains.
A local television channel published images of students jumping out of the windows from the second floor of one of the buildings, to avoid the attacker.
At the University of Perm, according to the information provided by that entity,
there were about 3,000 students at the time of the attack
.
"Forensic investigators from the Main Criminalistics Department (Crime Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia were dispatched to the scene to provide practical assistance in the investigation," the Investigative Committee of Russia officially announced.
An antecedent
At least eleven people
, including children, a teacher and an attacker,
died last May
during a
shooting at a school in the Russian city of Kazan.
In addition, more than 30 injuries were reported.
That attack took place at school 175 in Kazan, capital of the Muslim-majority Russian republic of Tatarstan, and was led by two attackers, aged 17 and 19.
One of them was arrested, while the other was killed by the police
after he locked himself in the educational establishment.
According to the Education Ministry told TASS,
32 people were injured in the violent shooting
.
At the time of the event, there were 714 children in the school and about 70 employees, including 52 teachers.
Members of the Russian National Guard had surrounded the school building, where an explosion was also recorded.
Like today, images posted on social media showed students fleeing the school and even
jumping from
third-story
windows
to escape the shooting.
Most of the students were evacuated to a neighboring kindergarten.
For its part, the Kazan City Council ordered to reinforce security in all educational establishments in the city.
