The disagreements come against the background of the government's decision to examine changing the map of national priorities, including deleting settlements and adding Arab localities.

The Minister of Religious Affairs, Matan Kahana, will prioritize the budget of synagogues in Judea and Samaria, he announced today (Monday) on his Twitter account.

"I was happy to inform my friend the chairman of the Samaria Council that this year, for the first time, I intend to give budgetary priority to synagogues in Judea and Samaria," he tweeted.

Among the main criteria: localities in the Gaza Strip or up to nine kilometers from the Lebanese border and Judea and Samaria.

I was happy to inform my friend the chairman of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, that this year, for the first time, I intend to give budgetary priority to synagogues in Judea and Samaria.

This year comes to the pioneers in Judea and Samaria!

Happy holiday and a good signature.

His coalition members were quick to condemn the move, with MK Mussi Raz of Meretz tweeting:

An unfortunate statement by the Minister of Religions. "

Matan Kahana declares that he will discriminate against the worshipers of the synagogues in Israel in order to prefer the worshipers in the occupied territories.

Michal Rosin, MK on behalf of Meretz, also wrote: "Minister Kahana has decided to continue on the wrong line of the right - to care only for citizens beyond the Green Line.

In his eyes, worshipers in synagogues in Israel are less important than worshipers in the settlements.

"Wrong decision by the Minister of Religions, this is not how change is made and certainly not healing."

The exchange comes after the government last week announced a review of changing the national priority map, including deleting settlements and adding Arab localities.
