Fürstenfeldbruck district - On the occasion of this year's Bundestag election, the U18 election took place across Germany from September 11th to 17th.
Children and young people were able to find out about the upcoming election and vote “like the grown-ups” on the basis of a voting slip based on the original.
In cooperation with the Bavarian Youth Ring (BJR), the Fürstenfeldbruck District Youth Association coordinated the U18 election in the Fürstenfeldbruck district.
There were a few permanent polling stations and a mobile voting bus toured the district. A total of 763 young people under the age of 18 voted.
With the “first vote”, the children and young people voted for a candidate from the 215 constituency, just like the correct election on September 26th. Michael Schrodi from the SPD achieved 28.5 percent, followed by the Greens. Candidate Beate Walter-Rosenheimer with 26.6 percent and Katrin Staffler from the CSU with 22.9 percent.
With the second vote, the children and young people also decided in their fictitious election about the majority in the Bundestag, and consequently how many of the 598 seats in the Bundestag each party is entitled to.
Here the Greens achieved first place with 27.5 percent.
The SPD came in second with 19.5 percent, closely followed by the CSU with 19.1 percent.
