District

- If the under 18-year-olds in the Starnberg district have their way, Martina Neubauer from the Greens will move into the Bundestag. The 58-year-old got 25.1 percent of the first votes in the U18 election in the district at the weekend - and was wafer-thin ahead of the incumbent member of the Bundestag Michael Kießling from the CSU with 24.4 percent. A total of 1692 young people in the Starnberg district took part in the election.

In the other places among the direct candidates were Carmen Wegge (SPD) with 16.1 percent, Britta Hundesrügge (FDP) with 11.3 percent, Simone Ketterl (left) with 9.3 percent, Rainer Groß (AfD) with 2.9 percent Percent, Christoph Raab (The Party) with 2.7 percent, Rasso Rebay von Ehrenwiesen (Free Voters) with 2.5 percent, Joachim Nibbe (Volt) with 2.1 percent, Stella Sadowsky (ÖDP) with 1.7 percent, Manfred Heinlein (Die Basis) with 1.5 percent and Cornelia Fiegel (V party) with 0.4 percent. According to Claus Piesch, the chairman of the District Youth Association (KJR), the first votes were already the final result for the district.

In the case of the second votes, however, there may still be changes because, according to Piesch, two of the eight polling stations were not yet fully counted on Sunday. With the second votes, the lead of the Greens was even bigger at the time. They came in the district - as of Sunday - to 23.1 percent. The CSU achieved 20.0 percent, the FDP 16.2 percent, the SPD 14.5 percent and the Left 5.7 percent. All other parties, including the AfD, were included and were therefore grouped together as “others”. These 21 small parties accounted for a total of 20.5 percent.

In the entire constituency, i.e. Starnberg including the Landsberg district and the city of Germering, the Greens (21.2 percent) and CSU (21.0 percent) were almost on par with the second votes. It was followed by the FDP (15.7 percent), SPD (15.1 percent) and Left (5.6 percent). The other parties came to 21.4 percent. Throughout Bavaria, the CSU (21.0 percent) was ahead of the game, followed by the Greens (18.4 percent), SPD (16.8 percent), FDP (12.4 percent), AfD (5.8 percent) and Leftists ( 5.6 percent) - as of Sunday.

Piesch spoke to the Starnberger Merkur of a “very satisfactory turnout”, but also admitted that “significantly more” young people could have participated.

This time there were polling stations in the Haus der Jugend Stellwerk in Herrsching, in the Youth Center Nepomuk in Starnberg, in the JUZ in Gauting, at the Gymnasium Tutzing, at the Gymnasium Kempfenhausen, at the Benedictus-Realschule Tutzing, at the Creative School in Tutzing and - mobile - at the stand of the KJR at the festival for honorary office and democracy on Friday afternoon on the Starnberg church square.

Starting today, Monday, the Kreisjugendring is offering a special service on its website kja-sta.de with lots of information for first-time voters over the age of 18.
