As already reported, meteorologist Veronika Krüger announced thunderstorms and rain for Sunday evening.

The German Weather Service (DWD) is now issuing an official warning of continuous rain.

The districts on the edge of the Alps are particularly affected by the warning of continuous rain *.

To be more precise, the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Wolfratshausen-Bad Tölz, Miesbach, Rosenheim, Traunstein and Berchtesgadener Land.

The warning applies from Sunday (September 19) 4:00 p.m. to Monday (September 20) 4:00 a.m.

"Precipitation amounts of around 30 l / m²" are expected in the areas.

"In congested locations, quantities of up to 40 l / m² are achieved," according to the DWD.

Initial forecasts have shown that temperatures in November and December will be below average.

So a cool start to winter.

The early winter months would be rather dry because of the "dry air supply from the north", said Krüger.

That means: In November and December, no large amounts of snow * are to be expected.
