A few weeks before the talk of airing the sequel to "Sex and the City," actor Willie Gerson, who played Carrie Bradshaw's gay best friend, passed away tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) at the age of 57.
Willie Garson was in life, as on screen, a light for everyone in his universe.
He created one of HBO's most beloved characters and was a member of our family for nearly 25 years.
We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend condolences to his family and loved ones.

Gerson starred throughout the six seasons of "Sex and the City" as the colorful Stanford Blatch, and even went on with the original series crew for two successful feature films as well, with the second film opening at his ratwoman wedding to his partner.
Gerson is also starring in the sequel "And Just Like That" which will soon air on streaming service HBO Max and filmed throughout the summer months with Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the cast, though in his private life he has reportedly struggled with pancreatic cancer.
"I love you so much Papa, rest on your laurels in peace and I am so happy that you were able to share your adventures with me and we achieved a lot together," his son Nathan wrote in an Instagram obituary that Gerson adopted in 2009 when he was 7. Unlike his famous son Gerson Was a heterosexual single.
"I'm so proud of you. Forever love you. But I think it's time for you to go on an adventure alone. Always be with me. I love you more than you will ever know and I'm glad you're in a peaceful place now. You were the strongest, funniest and smartest person I have ever known. I'm happy "You shared your love with me. I will never forget or lose her."
Gerson was born in February 1964 to American Jewish parents named William Gerson Pjament and studied acting at a school considered drama at Yale University.
Throughout the 1990s he starred in the popular police drama "NYPD Blue" and appeared in guest roles in a variety of TV series such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Friends", "Bags in the Dark" and "CSI Crime Scene".
On the big screen he has appeared in comedy films such as "Crazy About Mary", "Being John Malkovich" and "Friday Upside Down".
Among the eulogies who posted on social media are Cynthia Nixon (Miranda in "Sex and the City") who wrote "so deeply sad that we lost Willie Gerson, we all loved him and enjoyed working with him, he was infinitely funny on screen and in real life, a source Of light, friendship and the magic of the show business, an absolute pro "and Mario Cantona (who played his partner in the series) who tweeted" I could not have asked for a better TV partner, I am crushed and sadly overwhelmed, taken from us too soon, you were a god, comfortable on a sweet friend bed, I love you".
