200,000 euros less sales in the Dachau outdoor pool

The poor number of visitors to the family pool - as reported, only 59,000 guests came to the pool from May to September - are also reflected in the balance sheet of the public utility company.   

Dachau - Stadtwerke boss Robert Haimerl had to explain in the youngest works committee to a question from city councilor Markus Kellerer (AfD) that this year the pool has generated “200,000 euros less sales” than in previous years.

Since the pool employees could neither be sent on short-time work nor state aid programs for pool companies were launched, these 200,000 euros should also be missing from the municipal utility's balance sheet at the end of the year.

After all, the low number of guests had the effect that there were hardly any problems with young people or aggression offenses: the poor number of visitors had "significantly reduced the potential for conflict".

The water in the basin was colder than usual

Markus Erhorn (Free Voters) then asked whether the family pool guests were right with their complaint that the water in the pool was really cold this year? Erhorn wanted to know whether there was a defect in the heating. Haimerl admitted that this summer it was actually very refreshing to bathe in the family pool. The reason for the cold water was simply due to the weather: "In order to heat the pools at these outside temperatures, we would have needed appropriate amounts of energy." It is "very difficult" to raise these amounts.

After looking back at the cold summer days, the works committee also looked ahead and changed the municipal swimming pool fee statutes. According to this, the early and evening tariff will no longer only apply on weekdays from November 1st, but every day - and thus also on Sundays and public holidays.
