After hitting a median following a brutal restart from a red light, a woman mowed down four people near 133 avenue des Champs-Élysées, in Paris, Tuesday, September 21.
Three of them are in a state of absolute emergency, reports

One of the victims was dragged several meters by the vehicle.
The fourth pedestrian was slightly injured.
They were all escorted to La Salpêtrière Hospital, as was the driver, who was then taken into police custody.

According to initial reports, his foot slipped off the brake pedal before locking up on the accelerator.
The woman, accompanied by a passenger, allegedly used balloons filled with nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.
These balloons were found in the car according to the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, Jeanne d'Hauteserre, contacted by

, adding that the woman had filmed herself inhaling "proto" at a red light before the accident.
