The city council made this decision at its meeting on Tuesday evening in the Loisachhalle.
In mid-August, according to town hall chief Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW), the German Association of Cities asked whether Wolfratshausen would like to join the initiative, which was launched by seven member municipalities.
In addition to joining, Loisachstadt could “offer itself as a model municipality for small towns with up to 20,000 inhabitants”.
Road traffic law would have to be changed
Tempo 30 also on district, state and federal roads that run through a city? "This requires a change in road traffic law, which sets the maximum speed limit in town at 30 km / h as a rule," explains the Association of Cities. The FDP city council described joining the initiative and applying as a model municipality as "nonsensical, media-effective symbolic politics".
