Sauerlach - A new grammar school is to be built in Sauerlach, also to relieve that in Holzkirchen.

There is now a dispute about this.

The construction of a grammar school in Sauerlach could still cause a violent dispute in the local council.

Because it's not just about building a school close to the S-Bahn that offers space for 900 students.

Rather, a kindergarten, a sports and youth center and affordable housing with social ties are to be built on 13 hectares of arable land by 2026, as Johann Widmann explains.

The 51-year-old and his two siblings own the land on which a new district is to be built.

The members of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen are not very enthusiastic about this.

“It was always about building a grammar school,” says local councilor Axel Horn.

The 58-year-old fears that the major project will be difficult to get a grip on in terms of traffic policy, because: “Hofoldinger Strasse is already a bottleneck.” The new district could mean more traffic, with the result that many motorists will avoid the neighboring residential area would.

Half of the students from Sauerlach

However, Johann Widmann has no understanding for such concerns.

He calls the Greens' objections grossly negligent.

A historic opportunity would be wasted here.

He senses base motives, especially since Wolfgang Büsch, Third Mayor of Sauerlach, lives in the immediate vicinity of the planned high school.

That is why his group is probably against the project, speculates Widmann.

The land owner receives support from Ursula Gresser (FDP), among others.

The councilor understands that not only a high school is being built here, but that the entire property is being planned.

Also means: all or not at all.

She considers the sole construction of the grammar school to be nonsensical and is therefore committed to an all-encompassing zoning plan.

In addition, Sauerlach will bear half of the costs because half of the students will come from Sauerlach.

"Find a high school for Sauerlach great"

Wolfgang Büsch reacts calmly to such allegations and plans: “I think a high school for Sauerlach is great.” There is nothing wrong with the location either, but he feels that Johann Widmann has been blackmailing him from time to time. “We don't want to be screwed on when it comes to local development.” Rather, it should be sustainable and not happen in a jiffy. “The municipality must not allow the structuring option to be taken out of its hands,” demands Büsch. "We shouldn't misrepresent ourselves on the project, after all, it's about millions." And: "You mustn't sell the interests of the community away."

At least it shouldn't fail because of Johann Widmann. On the contrary: After all, he has already presented three financing models. Accordingly, Sauerlach could buy the building site or lease the area. Proposal 3: Widmann would build the school himself and rent it to the community on a long-term basis. He should have the opportunity to present his project at a meeting of the local council. Widmann is confident about the subsequent voting result: “The majority ratios are actually clear.”
