From the Sukkot to the parks: About 150,000 hikers visited the nature reserves and gardens Israel today

Many hikers took advantage of the first day of the holiday week and crowded the parks around the country • About 4,000 visited Tel Afek, about 3,500 in the Ein Gedi Reserve • Later in the week there will be additional cultural and activity shows • And what is the expected weather at the weekend?


About 150,000 hikers visited the nature reserves and national parks today (Wednesday). Among the prominent sites were: the national park, the Yarkon Park, Tel Afek with about 4,000 hikers, the Ein Gedi nature reserve with about 3,500 hikers, and the Besor National Parks (Eshkol) And the Garden of the Three with about 3,000 hikers in each.

Other notable sites were: Caesarea National Park with about 2,500 hikers and the Ein Prat Reserve and Cliff Springs with about 2,000 hikers each.

Meanwhile, the many hikers visited the 70 information stations set up by the Nature and Parks Authority at the entrance to a variety of hiking trails in the reserves and national parks free of charge.

The stations were staffed by employees and guides of the Nature and Parks Authority combined with volunteers who provided travelers with recommendations and information on hiking trails, natural values, heritage and scenery in each area and emphasizing safe and correct hiking rules.

In addition, hikers were equipped with garbage bags to keep nature and open spaces clean.

Among the activities expected tomorrow and in the coming days are "Breathing Culture" shows in collaboration with Mifal Hapayis, at no extra charge with a team of jugglers, circus artists, musicians, singers and more.

The shows will be spread over several points in selected national parks and will appear at set times during visiting hours and professional guidance of free guides in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism in dozens of national parks and nature reserves. 

Decrease in temperature at the weekend, increase next week

Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, with a drop in temperatures, there may be a local drizzle in the north and center of the country.

During the night it rained, mostly lightly, in the north of the country to the northern Negev.

On Friday it will be partly cloudy, with a further drop in temperatures and they will be lower than normal for the season, until noon it rained locally in the north of the country to the northern Negev.

The heat load will be light on the coastal plain in the south and in the northern Negev, moderate in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the Arava.

Meteo Tech said that on Saturday it will be partly cloudy to clear, with a slight rise in temperatures, at noon northerly winds will blow along the coastal plain.

The heat load will be light in the mountains, moderate on the coastal plain in the lowlands and in the northern Negev, heavy in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the Arava.

Sunday will be fine, with a further rise in temperatures mainly in the mountains and inland and they will be higher than normal for the season, at noon strong northerly winds will blow along the coastal plain.
