What do a wedding dress, a surfboard, bikes and a drone have in common? They all came under the hammer at the lost property auction in Moosburg.

What do a wedding dress, a surfboard, bikes and a drone have in common?

They all came under the hammer at the lost property auction in Moosburg.

Moosburg

- The focus was, as the title of the event "Auction of Fund Bikes" suggests, on bikes.

81 of these frosted finds had accumulated in the warehouse of the building yard over the past two years and were now ready for inspection.

Around 50 interested citizens had come to Böhmerwaldstrasse to intensively examine the 221 exhibits and then bid for them in “one-euro steps”.

The auctioneer Konrad Schmid, who led the auction for the seventh time, accepted the bid.

In real life he is the house and court carpenter at the Moosburger Bauhof.

With a loud and firm voice, Schmid offered the exhibits for sale in his own humorous way.

That was well received by those present.

Every now and then you felt like at Sotheby's when the bids came from the right and left in the direction of the auctioneer and the auctioneer no longer came to the well-known “Zum First, zum.

.

. ”Could start.

There are many reasons for attending such an auction.

For example, Peter Hennrich was looking for a bike for his son.

His vehicle was recently stolen on a trip to Milan and a replacement had to be found at short notice.

The Moosburger took part in the event for the first time, had no concrete ideas about the exhibits and prices and wanted to be surprised.

In the end, the surprise cost him three euros.

Another visitor was looking for an inexpensive “Bahnhofsradl” to visit a secondary school in Landshut - and she found it for three euros as well.

A lady from walls actually wanted to buy a bicycle for her daughter, but couldn't find anything that met her expectations and decided at short notice to buy a jacket.

But there were also a few veterans present who often take part in such auctions. A Moosburger, who introduced himself as Mr. Reinisch, was looking for bicycles, for example, which he prepares and either drives himself for a year or two or sells on classifieds. He would not spend more than four or five euros per bike, was his motto. That's why he chooses a few favorites in advance, but then often brings some other bikes home with him. Because it is important to be flexible. "Often several people fixate on one bike and then push the price up to 15 or 20 euros," said Reinisch. There are usually other bikes of the same quality that nobody wants and that would then cost two euros.

Son Martin shares his father's passion.

In addition to a few bikes, he also bought jewelry and audio accessories on Saturday.

His buddy Jonathan was at the auction for the first time, was immediately enthusiastic and bought a few bicycles as well as cell phones.

Technical devices are in great demand

A staggering 31 euros were paid for a pair of branded headphones.

In general, technical equipment such as ear pods or a drone was very popular.

All buyers then had to identify themselves, pay in cash and received a receipt from Heidemarie Littmann and Stephanie Kreitmeier from the Moosburger Fundamt, which proves the legal purchase of the item.

The wedding dress and the surfboard found no buyers on Saturday and, like most bicycles, glasses, jewelry and mobile phones, will be stored again and then offered again at the next auction.

Heidemarie Littmann would have liked to see more articles find a new owner.

Because the warehouse is relatively full after no auction has taken place for two years due to Corona.

In addition, there are already other finds whose statutory retention period of six months would expire until the next auction - and which will then go under the hammer.
