Geretsried - There should no longer be long queues in the town hall in the future.

Because on September 1st, the city administration introduced a digital appointment management system, the benefits of which also impressed Mayor Michael Müller.

Appointments can now be conveniently booked from home or on the go via the website www.geretsried.de.

"All you need is a computer or smartphone with a browser and internet access, an app is not required," assures IT manager Thomas Habermann.

The system was developed by the Hamburg company FrontDesk.

"With this system we are consistently moving towards digitization of the administration", explained Mayor Michael Müller.

He pointed out that, especially in times of a pandemic, citizens want more predictability and security.

"Our newly introduced appointment management system guarantees our citizens both: They can use it to book their appointments in the town hall quickly and do not have to wait in long lines," said Müller happily.

Since September 1, there has been a modern terminal in the foyer of the town hall, which citizens can use to register or book an appointment quickly and easily.

The Luca app, which is used by many, has also been integrated, so there is no need to fill out the visit form.

“The registration is self-explanatory with simple information and a few clicks.

Registration or de-registration for dogs

The employees of the city administration then immediately know that the citizen is present: That saves valuable time, ”assures IT manager Habermann.

The appointment management system will initially only be launched for the important areas of the city's citizen service.

These include the registry office, the passport and registration office, the trade office and the lost property office.

"A gradual adjustment and expansion for all citizen-relevant areas is planned for the future," announced citizen service department head Yvonne Bräuning.

In the future, for example, a dog can be registered or de-registered conveniently online from home.

Mayor Müller is aware that some people may have problems getting used to the new appointment management system at first.

“We'll have to assist in the beginning,” he admitted. City administration employees at the gate are happy to explain the most important steps.
