Ali Akar was the first host in Nuremberg to introduce the 2G rule.

He is fiercely hostile on the net.

But the bar operator sticks to his decision.

Nuremberg - Ali Akar is the first of its kind in Nuremberg. The bar operator is countering the corona pandemic with its own house rules.

The so-called 3G regulation has been in force in most of the facilities in Bavaria since August.

Only those who have been vaccinated, recovered or those who have tested negative are allowed to visit restaurants or take advantage of offers from tour operators.

That is not enough for Akar - and he is violently attacked for this.

Nuremberg: Landlord introduces 2G rule and harvests hate attacks on the Internet

The landlord of the “Café Bar Garage” in Nuremberg has had bad experiences with the 3G rule.

Since this rule has been in effect, some guests have "fooled him with the tests", Akar told

Nordbayern.de

.

For him as the host, the control of the tested is time-consuming.

And to offer his own quick tests * in his bar, the capacity is lacking, after all he would have to supervise all customers who want to do one for 15 minutes.

Akar reacted to this: From October 1st, the 2G rule will apply in the “garage” in Nuremberg *. Then only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered will have access to Akar's bar. “I want to have less risk,” he says. The decision is not easy for him from an economic point of view. "Of course, with 2G I get even less sales," the landlord knows, because a large number of potential customers have not yet been vaccinated or have already been ill and are considered to have recovered. Akar sees it pragmatically: “Better to have less sales than closed.” If a visitor tests positive, there is a risk that Akar and his team would be quarantined. With the decision he announced on Facebook, Ali Akar by no means only made friends.

The reactions were particularly strong on the Internet.

Some quarreled with the host's decision for ethical reasons.

Among other things, there was talk of “discrimination” or a “two-class society”.

Those were the friendlier critic voices.

“I wish you bankruptcy,” commented a Facebook user.

Akars Bar was dubbed a “Sch .... shop”.

Particularly shocking for the landlord: he himself was compared to Adolf Hitler.

These violent reactions are not uncommon: A tour operator from Middle Franconia was recently threatened.

He, too, had announced that from October onwards he would only take those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered with him.

Vaccinated or recovered: Nuremberg host introduces 2G rule - and reaps hateful comments

The sometimes tasteless headwind cannot change the mind of the determined restaurateur. “It doesn't work. I'll stick with it, ”says Akar

Nordbayern.de.

His decision was not made on a whim. Akar wondered what to do for weeks. That is why he also knows that the majority of his regular customers enjoy full vaccination protection. The same goes for the dart players who come to the "garage" on a regular basis. Akar is certain that no one can forbid the decision for him anyway: he enjoys domestic rights and entrepreneurial freedom.

It is reassuring for the landlord that his decision is also well received on Facebook. “Great thing”, writes one user, “come by.” Another guest - who probably avoided the bar last - says: “Thank you, Ali. Now I like to come back to soccer broadcasts. ”And one of them wishes:“ I hope there will be many more to follow. ”

His wish was heard: there are now imitators of Akar's action.

In the vicinity of his restaurant, a second restaurant in Nuremberg now only serves those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered.

At the “Bismarck”, a café on the same street, the rule that Akar doesn't want to start until October 1st has already been implemented.

The operator of the “Bismarck” is happy with his decision: “The acceptance is very good,” says owner Silvan Skok.

The professional colleague cannot understand the excitement surrounding Akar's decision.

Skok sees not being vaccinated as “selfish thinking”.

And he thinks that is fundamentally wrong: "If everyone shows solidarity, you can stop Corona much faster."

Corona in Bavaria: 2G is hotly debated - vaccination campaign stagnates

At the moment, the number of people vaccinated is developing very slowly *. The vaccination campaign in Bavaria and throughout Germany has stalled. A 2G rule is controversially discussed in Bavaria. VIze Prime Minister and Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger recently spoke out clearly against such a rule - he relies on antibody tests.
