The late basketball coach Arik Alfasi was laid to rest today (Wednesday) in the cemetery in Moshav Avihayil in the Emek Hefer Regional Council with the participation of many hundreds of friends, family, acquaintances and many basketball people.
Alfasi (49), who worked in many teams and also in the various Israeli national teams, contracted the corona virus a few weeks ago and has recently been anesthetized and respirated in the hospital.
In parallel with his work as a basketball coach in the senior leagues, Alfasi also served as the owner of two hostels for the rehabilitation of the mentally handicapped, who were rehabilitated after hospitalizations in psychiatric hospitals and other institutions.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
