In a new CDU election commercial, a so-called lateral thinker can be seen at the side of Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet.
The man jumped on stage at a Laschet election campaign event in Erfurt at the beginning of September.
Laschet then let him speak into his microphone.
This is supported by the statement that the CDU also talks to those who have “a critical attitude”.
Because of this scene, the spot continues to cause outrage.
Left chairwoman Susanne Hennig-Wellsow asked Laschet to withdraw the spot.
It was "absolutely unacceptable that the CDU chancellor candidate had a corona denier appear in his most recent election spot who apparently had ties to the radical right-wing scene," said Hennig-Wellsow.
The »taz« reports that the »lateral thinker« from the spot, Thomas Brauner, is supposed to maintain close contacts with the neo-Nazi scene.
In a video from November 2020, Brauner spoke in a speech in front of the Würzburg Castle in connection with the corona vaccinations that a “Holocaust 2.0 should be implanted”.
There are also photos showing him with the right-wing extremist "Volkslehrer" Nikolai Nerling.
In the Saxon town of Grimma Brauner appeared according to "taz" at an event that was flagged with the banners of the right-wing extremist group "Free Saxony".
Democratic parties should "not court lateral thinkers, they have to confront them," demanded Hennig-Wellsow.
To the address of the Union Chancellor candidate, she said: "Something like that doesn't work, Herr Laschet - especially not after the attack in Idar-Oberstein."
A petrol station cashier was shot there over the weekend.
According to the investigators, he had previously advised the suspect of compliance with the mask requirement.
The CDU spot also provoked some indignant reactions because it was shown after this act.
Brauner then posted, according to "taz", on Telegram: "This is the work of the government!"
