Thousands take part in the traditional Priests' Blessing at the Western Wall • Due to the corona, there will be two classes day after day


In the Western Wall plaza, the traditional priestly blessing class will be held this morning (Wednesday).

According to the outline formulated by the Corona Cabinet, reaching the Western Wall on Sukkot is possible for the entire public without a green sign, with a capacity of 8,000 people at a time in the large complex.

In order to meet the expected loads, it was decided that this year the priests' blessing would be split into two classes - day after day.

The first class will be held today, and the second class on Thursday soon.

Entry during the Priests' Blessing will be restricted to the prayer complexes.

The morning prayer at the Western Wall plaza will begin at 8:45 a.m. and the first priests' blessing will take place half an hour later, at 9:15 p.m.

The second blessing of the priests will be at 10:15.

The two Chief Rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef and Rabbi David Lau, and the Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz will be present. 

Please note: if there are congestion, the entrances to the Old City and the Western Wall will be closed.

The Western Wall Heritage Foundation is asking those who intend to attend the Priests' Blessing today not to attend the class on Thursday in order to allow anyone interested to attend the event.

The Jerusalem Police has increased preparedness for the weekdays of Sukkot.

Hundreds of policemen, border fighters and volunteers will be deployed throughout the city of Jerusalem, with an emphasis on the Old City area and traffic arteries, in order to provide the best solution for every scenario and maintain order. Number of participants.

The public is asked to refrain from reaching the Old City area during the holidays by private vehicles and to avail themselves of public transportation, transportation from the 'Hana VeSa' car parks and the light rail. The police are urging the public to obey the instructions of the police and security guards and to act in accordance with the corona regulations, including wearing a face mask in a gathering or mass prayer.
