Marie-Madeleine Rigoupolos, new artistic director of Livre Paris

The republic of letters knows Marie-Madeleine Rigoupolos well; for three years, she was the conductor of the Book on the square, in Nancy, with a careful program, which touched both lovers of literature and the general public. His sense of organization, with innovations, debates and rich and diverse meetings, appealed. The former journalist also knows how to link disciplines such as theater and music to books. She also launched, in Nancy, the Ginkgo Audio Book Prize with the involved presidency of Thibault de Montalembert. It is undoubtedly all this know-how and this experience that the SNE was looking for for its new show; without counting that Marie-Madeleine Rigoupolos had already ensured the programming of Livre Paris a few years ago.

Rendezvous from April 21 to 24, 2022

On its website, the SNE recalled the eclectic journey of Marie-Madeleine Rigoupolos.

After studying at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Athens, she worked for eight years as a columnist and literary journalist on Europe1 then on France Inter, then for three years held the position of director of programming at the Paris book fair, before moving to join Le Livre sur la Place as General Commissioner in 2018. She has also regularly hosted meetings at the Maisons de la Poésie in Paris and in several major literary festivals.

Finally, she was a programmer for the program “Bibliothèque Médicis” on Public Senate.

Organized by the SNE, this new festival, the result of a broad consultation between book publishers, will be held from April 21 to 24, 2022. Celebration of the entire inter-profession, it will bring together all the worlds of books and creation. For this first edition, for three days, from a central Parisian nucleus, the Grand Palais Éphémère, it will also invest some major emblematic places of Paris and its near crown. Authors, publishers, booksellers, will celebrate all books and reading in all its forms. Filmmakers, actors, visual artists, musicians… will also be invited to participate in this great festival of culture. Marie-Madeleine Rigoupolos will work in close collaboration with the Director General, Jean-Baptiste Passé
