She had planned to stay away from the electoral campaign ... but has never been so present as in recent days. On the eve of the legislative elections of September 26, Angela Merkel multiplies public appearances alongside Armin Laschet, the CDU candidate in difficulty in the polls. On Tuesday evening, the Chancellor traveled to Stralsund, in her constituency on the shores of the Baltic. On Friday, she will appear in Munich, where she will be greeted by Truderinger Böllerschützen, of the famous Bavarian firecracker club: the opportunity to display the unity of the Christian Democratic family in the presence of CSU leader Markus Söder. Finally on Saturday, a few hours before the ballot, she will visit the CDU candidate at his home in Aachen, in the west of the country.
