Since Wednesday the S-Bahn line 2 has stopped again in Poing, in both directions.
The renovation of the station will take until spring 2022.
Poing - The construction site at the Poing S-Bahn station is not finished, but the S2 has stopped there again in both directions since this Wednesday.
The new platforms have been installed, and it is now possible to get on and off the S-Bahn at ground level.
This is part of the barrier-free renovation of the station, which is being modernized at the same time.
A large roof was installed in the direction of Munich, for example, and the ticket machines are now located directly on the stairs that lead from the new underpass to the platforms.
According to the railway, the complete renovation should be completed in spring 2022.

Actually, the station should have been completed at the start of school so that the trains can stop again.
The Poingen train station was closed during the summer holidays.
However, there were delays due to "delivery bottlenecks in the construction industry," as the railway announced.
Among other things, the planned lighting equipment and masts could not have been delivered on time.
For this reason, the closure was originally extended by two weeks until September 26th.
Now the necessary work on the platforms has been completed a few days earlier, so that the S2 can stop and depart regularly in Poing.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Ebersberg newsletter.)
In the past few days, the S-Bahn station in Grub became the eye of a needle, especially in the morning due to the closure, because commuters who came from Heimstetten also arrived there with the rail replacement buses.
The train station there is also currently being converted to make it barrier-free.
According to DB Regio AG, rail replacement services between Grub and Poing will continue to be offered in addition to the S-Bahn until September 27th.
However, there are no longer any shuttle buses between the Poing and Markt Schwaben train stations - they were used by the municipality of Poing on their own and have now been canceled, informs the town hall.
As reported, the railway was unable to set up replacement rail services on this route for reasons of capacity.
