Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Education Minister Yifat Shasha Bitton convened today (Wednesday) a preparatory discussion with the participation of various factors in the education system regarding returning to school after the holidays, against the background of the spread of the corona.
Among other things, the director general of the Ministry of Education, the chairman of the local government center, representatives of parents and teachers, and other professionals will participate in the discussion.
Among the issues on the agenda, the participants in the discussion will try to solve the problem of mass isolation in schools and kindergartens.
As of this morning, the number of isolated in the education system is still high.
138,375 students are in isolation, of whom 39,877 are verified patients.

Earlier this week, ministers confirmed that after the holidays, an institution director would not be allowed to enter kindergarten or school until sixth grade unless a signed statement was presented stating that an immediate corona test had been performed on a student for home use.
It was also stated that a child who arrives at the school without an examination will be allowed to enter, but he will be separated from the other students at the institution as much as possible and will report to his supervisor as soon as possible, for the purpose of collection.
In addition, no sanctions will be imposed on a parent who lies in a test he will send with his child.
The secretary general of the Teachers' Union, Yaffa Ben-David, threatened the education committee that the organization it heads will petition the High Court if teachers are forced to function as corona trustees, and are forced to enforce the requirement to present a negative certificate.
As of the beginning of the week, only 50% of teachers had been vaccinated with a booster to Corona.
The Ministry of Education said that teachers who were not vaccinated in the third dose will have to undergo a corona test twice a week from October 1 - or will not be able to enter an educational institution.
