More than 10 bullets were fired today (Wednesday) at a vehicle in which the personal assistant of the President of Ukraine was driving, as what was defined in the country as a failed assassination attempt.
The assassination attempt was carried out near the village of Lasniki, about five kilometers from the capital Kiev.
The driver of the assistant was injured in the incident, which police are investigating as a premeditated attempted murder.
According to a Ukrainian television network, at least 19 bullet holes were seen on the vehicle in which the assistant, Sergei Shafir, was driving uninjured in the incident.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky is currently in the United States, where he is attending the UN General Assembly.
Another Zalansky adviser said the assassination attempt may be a kind of threat to the Ukrainian president, who is fighting oligarchs in the country.
"This deliberate and violent attack should not be addressed other than the attempted assassination of a member of the Central Team," Mikhail Podolyak said.
The Ukrainian parliament is expected to discuss in the coming days a bill aimed at reducing the influence of oligarchs.
