On Saturday morning there was already a party atmosphere on the new skate and basketball court at the MTV site in Dießen.
Music came from the boxes, skaters raced over the new ramps, next door basketball players threw balls into their baskets, and those who couldn't do both watched enthusiastically.
Finally the facility could be opened and inaugurated by Pastor Josef Kirchensteiner.
Dießen
- youth officer Frank Fastl as the link between the young people and the local council, gave an entertaining review of the past two years from the idea to the finished project.
After the inauguration of the Soccerbox, the young people were asked to develop further projects in workshops. One suggestion was to buy a used mini ramp for 3000 euros, which unfortunately had already been sold. “A new mini ramp would have cost 8,000 euros,” explained Fastl. So one thing led to another. Soon it was also a question of a basketball court - in short, the redesign of the entire former ice hockey rink on the MTV site and a project sum of 160,000 euros. In this process, the young people not only demanded, but also tackled them vigorously. Despite the difficult Corona conditions, the young people showed an enormous amount of passion, time and creativity.
A thank you so Fastl goes to all sponsors, especially the Sparkasse and the Dießen company Vallox, who contributed 9,000 and 3,000 euros respectively.
Violetta Hölz took care of the greening.
Six trees are now donating shade from the Wörlein company on the edge of the sports facilities.
With the idea providers, coordinators and organizations from the youth initiative, Stefanie Sanktjohanser and Lea Schürer.
A big thank you from the youth went to Frank Fastl.
"He was always there for us."
