After 16 years of activity, in which she founded the umbilical cord blood industry in Israel - the umbilical cord company informs its tens of thousands of customers about the cessation of its activity to collect umbilical cord blood at Sheba Hospital.
The cessation of activity comes against the background of "failures in the supervision of the players in the industry," which she said led to a "non-sustainable regulatory and business environment."
With the cessation of umbilical cord activity, one private player will now be left in the umbilical cord blood preservation industry in Israel.
As of October 3, 2021, the management of Sheba, the owner of the umbilical cord blood bank, will bear full responsibility for customers who have kept umbilical cord blood, as well as for the continued proper management of blood transfusions.
Umbilical cord customers who have registered for umbilical cord blood collection up to this date, will receive full service by the umbilical cord staff by the said date.
The service will then be provided by Sheba.
As for customers who have registered for umbilical cord blood preservation and are expected to use the service as of October 4, the umbilical cord team will make personal contact with them.
If they have already paid for the service, their money will be refunded in full.
You can contact the laboratory at Sheba Hospital directly from October 3, 2021, in order to register for the Cord Blood Preservation Service, by phone 03-5305780 and by email cord.blood@sheba.health.gov.il.
Even at this time, the umbilical cord team will continue to be available to its customers and will be happy to assist and answer any questions.
