The Golden State Warriors fear the possibility of starting the season without player Andrew Wiggins, who refuses to get the vaccine against Corona.
According to San Francisco laws, you must be fully vaccinated to stay indoors.
The Warriors recently connected Wiggins to a doctor in Oakland who deals with vaccination hesitation, who will try to persuade the player to get vaccinated, but he still insists on not getting vaccinated.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the player may apply to be exempted from a vaccine on religious grounds, and this is likely to be the case.
"We are actively addressing the issue of requests for religious exemption from vaccines in many industries and will work with our business and entertainment community in the next steps," the San Francisco Department of Health said in a statement.
"We will provide further clarifications on this issue later."
Wiggins, who was selected first in the 2014 NBA Draft by Cleveland and was immediately traded to Minnesota, will lose more than $ 350,000 for every game he is forced to miss.
After 5 and a half seasons at Timberwolves, Wiggins was transferred to Golden State in February 2020, averaging 18.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season.
