In Bavaria, the corona incidence is well above the national average, but many people are still without a first vaccination.
Health Minister Holetschek is now urgently appealing.
Munich
- The Bavarian 7-day incidence * has again decreased slightly.
According to the RKI, it will be 80.5 on Thursday, September 23.
This is almost seven fewer than at the beginning of the week, but the Free State remains well above the nationwide average of 63.1.
The reason for this could also be that some of the Germany-wide Corona * hotspots are still in the Free State.
The district of Traunstein has been at the top for a few days with an incidence of over 196.6, which is number two nationwide.
This is followed by the district of Rosenheim * with 179.2 in fourth place, as well as the district of Berchtesgadener Land (152.4) and the city of Rosenheim (146.2) in seventh and eighth place.

Corona incidence in Bavaria: Some districts are real hotspots - also Munich above average
The Upper Bavarian districts of Miesbach and Erding also have a comparatively high incidence of over 100.
The state capital Munich, with a current incidence of 86.6, is lower, but still well above the national average.
The incidences are currently lowest in the districts of Tirschenreuth (9.8) and Neustadt an der Waldnaab (10.6).
The two districts in the Upper Palatinate had long been one of the Germany-wide hotspots last year, mainly because of their proximity to the Czech border.
Vaccination quota in Bavaria stagnates: Health Minister Holetschek with a clear appeal
The Bavarian Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) is concerned about the many people who are still not vaccinated. In Bavaria, the rate of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus is currently (as of September 22nd) at 61.2 percent of the population, the rate of those vaccinated for the first time is only slightly higher at 64.1. Experts agree that with these values, herd immunity such as in Denmark cannot be achieved. In Denmark, due to the high vaccination rate, all corona measures were recently lifted by the government.
Holetschek sees a high risk of a renewed increase in infections in the colder season of the year and therefore made a clear appeal to all those who were not vaccinated on Thursday: “Now is high time to get vaccinated, because autumn is cold season and with it also breeding ground for Corona, ”he said in Munich.
“It is up to us to take responsibility for ourselves and for others and to make a decisive contribution to the fight against the pandemic with vaccination.
Only with the vaccination can we relieve our health care system and everyone who works there.
I therefore appeal to all citizens of Bavaria: Get vaccinated now, vaccination is the best protection, ”continued Holetschek.
Despite increasing incidence: Bavarian hospital traffic lights continue to be green
A new traffic light system has been in place in Bavaria since the beginning of September.
The so-called hospital traffic light is intended to map the occupancy rate of hospitals and replace the corona incidence as the sole guideline value for corona restrictions to date.
It is currently in the green area.
Hospitalization |
Intensive care bed utilization |
|
limit |
Yellow at 1200 |
Red at 600 |
As of September 19 |
270 |
283 |
The new hospital traffic light turns yellow if more than 1200 patients with corona disease had to be admitted to hospitals across Bavaria within seven days.
The traffic light turns red when more than 600 corona patients are in intensive care units in Bavaria.
The state government will then decide on further measures - such as the return of the FFP2 mask requirement, the contact restrictions or the PCR test requirement.
