The tragedy of a child drowning in Ma On Shan.
At about 6 o'clock in the evening today (22nd), a girl was suspected of being drowned in the water while swimming in the swimming pool of the Kaiqin Residence Club in Diqin Bay, Xisha Road. Wake up and rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital by ambulance.
Sources at the scene stated that the girl was only 7 years old and was confirmed dead after treatment. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The police said that at 6:27 pm on the 22nd, a swimmer reported that a girl was suspected of being drowning in a swimming pool at 533 Xisha Road, Ma On Shan. The swimmer then rescued the girl.
The ambulancemen arrived at the scene and sent the 7-year-old girl named Li to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment. She was in a coma when she was sent to the hospital and was later certified dead.
After preliminary investigation by the police, it is believed that the girl drowned while swimming at the site, and the cause of death has yet to be determined after an autopsy.
The case was temporarily listed as "abusive or neglected to the child or young person under custody". His 38-year-old father was arrested in connection with the case and the case was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Team of the Sha Tin Police District for follow-up.
