Femicide in Mexico increased by 8% from January to August compared to the same period in 2020, reported this Wednesday the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Rosa Icela Rodríguez.
According to data from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, 672 femicides were registered from January to August, with August being the month with the most crimes (104).
This, despite the fact that at the end of January the Government of Mexico presented a strategy for women to have a life free of violence.
