A high trade tax flushes a lot of money into the Holzkirchen municipal treasury.

This enables many investments, as has now emerged from the 2021 budget.

Holzkirchen

- It was a great budget for the year 2021, was heard in the Holzkirchen municipal council. There was even talk of a “record budget”, because: around 63.5 million euros are in the administrative budget, the asset budget closes with a good 14 million. The main reason for the high numbers is the high income from trade tax, explained Chamberlain Dominik Wendlinger. But the numbers, which are good from the community's point of view, also have an important consequence: Holzkirchen's share of the district levy is growing to almost 25 percent, to 18.4 million euros. "That hurts us a lot," said Wendlinger. The figures also suggested that the proportion of Holzkirchen will continue to grow in the future. For the coming year, the treasurer estimates the district contribution at 19.7 million euros, for 2023 even at 26.7 million euros.

Large companies in Holzkirchen flush around 31.2 million euros in trade tax into the municipal bag. This corresponds to an increase of almost 50 percent compared to the previous year. However, you have received the signal that a repayment of a good ten million euros could be due, so the treasurer. Therefore, this amount was “parked” as a provision in order to be able to make the payment. But of course you hope that it doesn't come to that. The income from participation in income tax amounts to around 13.7 million euros.

The treasurer assessed positively that the community does not have to take out any new loans.

The debt level was also reduced by 1.3 million euros to around 11.3 million euros.

If everything goes according to plan, the per capita debt will be around 654 euros at the end of the year.

For comparison: Bavaria-wide the average is just under 1,100 euros.

According to Wendlinger, the high income will enable a pronounced investment program for the next few years.

In addition to the four major projects (new construction of the secondary school, extension of the Erich-Kästner-Straße daycare center, new construction yard, municipal housing), the expansion of sports, urban development and infrastructure measures are on the list of expenditures up to 2024.

This is made possible, among other things, by building up reserves.

For sports and housing construction, special reserves would also be formed, said Wendlinger.

The local councils were satisfied with the numbers. This is also due to the fact that the budget was discussed many times in advance, said Robert Wiechmann (Greens). "That ensures a high degree of democratic influence for the municipal council." Wiechmann did not see the high proportion of the district levy as problematic. The citizens benefit from this, for example by maintaining the hospital in Agatharied. Sebastian Franz (CSU) and Dirk Kreder (FDP) emphasized that the good market situation is thanks to companies and traders. Franz praised the fact that the tax rate remained low. He is also pleased that the sports development plan and children's playgrounds are being targeted with the reserves. Simon Ammer (SPD) warned that the high district levy must also have an impact on the setting of topics in the district. He also criticizedthat the budget item "residual budget expenditure" is too high. This hides projects that were not implemented as planned. This includes, for example, construction work at kindergartens in Holzkirchen.

Some councils criticized the fact that the budget was not adopted earlier (we reported).

Torsten Hensel (FWG) found balancing words: “There are understandable reasons,” he said.

However, he criticized the late payment of the subsidies to associations that are tied to the approved budget.

Mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) praised the budget: "Holzkirchen is doing well." He saw the late farewell loosely: "It is important to me that design leeway was not restricted." man in the green.

The municipal council unanimously adopted the budget charter.
