A new bill that has come up in Colombia calls for people whose pet has died to be entitled to two days of paid leave from their employers, to mourn the beloved animal.
According to state media, House of Representatives Alejandro Carlos Chacon, who put forward the proposal, said: "There is a deep connection between humans not only their families, but also their favorite pet. Some people do not have children but have an animal. Muhammad, and they are developing a very deep connection with her. "

Chacon added that two days of mourning would allow workers to "mourn and overcome grief without being preoccupied with work."
Chacon further added that this is a very relevant bill, as six out of ten households in the country have a pet.
As for the type of animals that could be given days off to mourn, the proposal does not list the species of animals, but states that these are those whose owners have a "strong sentimental connection to it."
Also, the law excludes wildlife or exotic animals from the proposal.
The offer also states that an employee will be able to receive the payment for these two days of leave only if he informs the employer in advance about the animal's difficult medical condition, or brings evidence that she is dead.
The employee will also need to report to his employers in the job interview that he has a pet, or if he has adopted one after the start of his employment time with the company.
The proposal also addresses the possibility of those trying to deceive their employers and gain leave of absence from the no-man's land, and imposes fines on them.
Will you also be considered a pet?

To be accepted into Colombia's law book, the law will have to go through four debates in the state's Senate and House of Representatives, a process that could be lengthy given the tendency of local lawmakers to debate much about the proposed laws.
Will we be privileged to see such a law in Israel as well?
