How can voluntary work be presented?

The diversity of the commitment was visualized as part of an integration project in the district of Dachau - in mosaics.

People from 21 nations made various mosaics for their respective areas of application.

They were placed in glass cases in the lawn of the roundabout in front of the Helios Amper Clinic in order to make them accessible to the general public.

"We are pleased that these artistic objects are beautifying our premises," says the Medical Director Professor Dr.

Hjalmar Hawthorn.

"We are happy to have agreed to an exhibition on our premises in cooperation with the district office."

“We also have volunteers working with the Greens.

We are very grateful to them for their daily commitment, ”explained Hagedorn.

District Administrator Stefan Löwl confirmed: “The IMA integration project with a sense of proportion has been working actively and successfully in the Dachau district for five years. In countless activities, people from different cultures were able to meet and learn from each other. It doesn't work without our volunteers. The mosaics now give shape to the volunteer work, because they stand for diversity and integration. ”In the district, a large number of people took part in the project of the volunteer work for education integration (EBI). It has set itself the goal of strengthening social integration with events and projects, emphasizing volunteer work and promoting networking among people from different backgrounds.

The groups of people involved were as colorful as the results: represented are the Indersdorf, Altomünster and Weichs helper groups, as well as the forget-me-not dementia café, insect and environmental protection and the Russian tradition.

Whether schools, associations or church institutions - they all worked on a common topic: to design and present their work visually.

Michaela Wintermayr-Greck supervised the project together with Martina Tschirge.

She told the stories of the origins of some of the mosaics on a tour of the 60 works.

“Very interesting conversations about the topic of volunteering have often arisen with the artists”.

The project IMA integration with a sense of proportion was financed by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs, the project sponsor is the Dachau District Office.
