Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the ideas of members of the US Congress on imposing new sanctions on Russia are internal US parliamentary exercises.
“In order to formalize these ideas it is necessary to go a long way,” RIA Novosti news agency quoted Peskov as saying today, adding: “These are exercises within Parliament and in order to be organized and formalized in some way have to go a long way as it is in the various committees of Congress. There are a large number of people who are not well versed in the Russian reality, but at the same time they absolutely do not like our country.”
According to Peskov: Sooner or later these documents will reach those who combine in their heads a hatred of Russia and specialized knowledge of matters, expressing his belief that it is too early to comment on such projects.
Earlier, the US House of Representatives Rules and Rules Committee approved a bill recommending imposing sanctions on 35 Russian figures, including Russian officials, businessmen and journalists, whom Washington alleges are “involved in human rights violations.”
