A fire broke out last night (light for Thursday) in a residential building on Dr. Weisburg Street in Petah Tikva. A 12-year-old boy was fatally injured in the fire and a 50-year-old man was seriously injured by smoke inhalation. Two other children were lightly injured and received medical treatment.
Large forces of police and firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident and evacuated the residents of the four-story residential building where the fire broke out.
Paramedics from Magen David Adom provided medical treatment to the wounded and evacuated them for further treatment at a hospital.
Neria Hagbi, a paramedic from the Rescue Union, who treated the difficult scene, said: "This is a very difficult incident, the child suffered from multiple burns as well as smoke inhalation. "In the arena for a 50-year-old man who was seriously injured by smoke inhalation and was also evacuated in an intensive care unit. Two other children were treated in a light condition in the arena after inhaling smoke."
