The meeting lasted a little over an hour.
None of the foreign ministers present wanted to comment at the start or end of the session.
Asked by AFP before the meeting to know if a unity of positions could be found between the United States, Russia, China, France and the United Kingdom with regard to the Taliban, the Chinese ambassador to the 'Onu, Zhang Jun replied,
"Unity is everywhere

The United Kingdom, which organized the meeting in the UN Security Council room, had indicated that it wanted to find
"a single voice in its dialogue with the Taliban"
