In light of the rising crime in the Arab sector, the police and the Ministry of Internal Security are launching another operation to collect weapons, promising that no criminal proceedings will be instituted against the returnees.
"Israel Today" announced today (Thursday) that the operation is expected to take place at the end of the month. The Arab sector accounts for about 20% of the population, but 90% of the weapons seized in raids initiated by the police are in Arab towns and villages.
Previously operations were conducted to collect weapons in the Arab sector who did not cooperate.
