Stadtwerke Freising is expecting a profit despite Corona: the interim balance that has now been presented shows a whopping 1.2 million euros.

Freising

- According to the budget, the municipal utilities have expected a loss of almost 400,000 euros this year.

Now you have looked at the figures for the first half of 2021 and made an "extrapolation" for the entire year.

And lo and behold: you can expect a profit of just under 1.2 million euros this year, as announced in the works committee on Wednesday.

The report

The semi-annual report that Managing Director Dominik Schwegler gave did not start out on a very positive note.

Because actually one had optimistically expected that the fresch would count around 300,000 visitors in 2021.

But the year had started with a closed family pool, and the gates could only be opened again in June.

And that is why this year there should be “only” 185,000 visitors, according to Schwegler.

The good news

But the good news followed: Because short-time work was able to absorb a lot, and because the government has also received generous support, the annual result of the pool company should be even better than originally assumed: instead of a deficit of 3.9 million euros, the minus should be at the end of the year amounted to 3.8 million euros.

Prognosis

The positive news about the expected annual result is mainly due to the fact that the Freisinger Stadtwerke Vertriebs-GmbH should not only make 4.26 million euros, but - as the current figures suggest - even 4.83 million euros.

At the same time, the deficit of Stadtwerke Parkhaus und Verkehrs-GmbH will probably be reduced from the planned 2.5 million euros to two million euros.

If you then add that the drinking water supply and the residential property are doing around 400,000 euros better than was estimated when the budget was drawn up, then the forecast minus of 400,000 euros turns into a plus of 1.2 million euros.

The big praise

Works officer Ulrich Vogl (ÖDP) not only praised the management of the municipal utilities for their prudent actions, but also the federal government for its support in times of severe pandemic.

The second Stadtwerke managing director Andreas Voigt emphasized, however, that it was still difficult to plan and make projections.

The second well

After all, you have money left over for two drinking water fountains: one should, according to the youth councilor's request, be set up at the skater area.

That is possible, says Voigt.

Because they have since learned that there is even 90 percent funding from the Free State for such a drinking water well, the decision was made to build a second well.

It is to be installed in the area of the lower old town.

Both wells should cost 30,000 euros, the expected funding is 27,000 euros.
