After about two years: Hoodia Monsango, the young woman who was arrested and imprisoned in Peru, returned to Israel

While family and friends are waiting for her at Ben Gurion Airport, Monsango underwent surgery in Israel. After about two years in detention in Peru, she was imprisoned and then under house arrest in the country.

Hoodia Monsengo, a young woman with special needs, who was arrested in Peru about two years ago on suspicion of drug smuggling, landed in Israel last night (Friday).

Family and friends waited for her upon landing at Ben Gurion Airport.

Monsango, was arrested in August 2019 and imprisoned for nine months. In May 2020 she was released under house arrest, where she remained for more than a year. Last month a Peruvian court decided to release her from house arrest.
