This is what the anger of Brazilians sounds like about more than half a million corona deaths at home: Brazilian Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga was welcomed in New York with chants and clear gestures.
A protester filmed his reaction: he jumped up and showed the angry crowd both middle fingers.
Shortly afterwards, the politician tested positive for the corona virus and had to go into quarantine in New York.
The virus had previously been diagnosed in another member of the delegation.
Health Minister Queiroga and Brazilian President Bolsonaro shook hands with British Prime Minister Johnson on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN general debate - but wore a mask.
At the UN, the President of Brazil gave a speech in which, among other things, he advertised drugs against the virus, the effectiveness of which has not yet been proven.
The Brazilian government under right-wing nationalist Bolsonaro is playing down the virus and speaking out against containment measures.
It is unclear whether there were further infections from Bolsonaro's delegates in New York.
On Wednesday, the entire Brazilian delegation went into 14-day quarantine at home in Brazil after their return from the UN summit - on the recommendation of their own health authority.
