Latinas are more likely to
own or think about starting their own business,
and caring for multigenerational families, than non-Hispanic white women, according to a bilingual online survey published Thursday by Telemundo.
This is revealed by the poll
El Pulso de las Latinas: Champions of Change
, carried out in collaboration with the Hispanic organizations Organized by Political Equality (HOPE) and the Latino Victory Foundation.
The survey uses data from the 2020 census that highlights the growth of Latinos in the United States, where they account for more than half of the population increase in the last decade.

Women of Latino origin are almost twice as likely to own their business or to plan to have one in the next three years compared to other women.
Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, four out of 10 Latinas indicated that
their employment had been damaged
, while almost a quarter (24%) said they had lost a loved one to COVID-19.

73% of Latinas claim to
be vaccinated
or had the intention to do so, and 61% of those who are mothers highlighted that
their children are also immunized
or will be soon.
"This new survey shows that
Latinas are leveraging their growing influence, bicultural heritage, and personal strength
to drive progress for our nation," said Monica Gil, senior vice president and chief marketing and administrative officer for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.

Politically, 63% of adult Latinas are
registered to vote
and 56% voted in the 2020 elections, according to the survey.
Six out of 10 Latinas indicated that they follow current politics.
In public and at social events, 37% of Latinas reported that they had been
discriminated against
, while 30% said they had suffered discrimination from coworkers, supervisors and clients in their jobs.

own the home they live in
, 45% have a bank account, 50% plan to start putting money into a savings account for their children's college and the 17% say they intend to invest in stocks, bonds, retirement accounts like IRAs or 401 (k) in the next three years.
Among Latina mothers, six out of 10 said they considered themselves the heads of their household, 78% said that being bilingual is an advantage, 76% recognized the importance of keeping their culture and heritage alive, and 67% said that having two cultures gives them an advantage.
The national survey included 800 Latinas and 800 non-Latinas online, in both English and Spanish, and was conducted in July.
